Billing Currency
All prices on museumticket.istanbul are displayed and billed in EUR (€). This is the currency that appears on your bank or credit card statement.
Currency Conversion
If your payment card uses a different currency (e.g., USD, GBP, TRY, JPY), your bank will automatically convert the EUR amount at their current exchange rate. What to know:
- Exchange rate — determined by your bank at the time of the transaction, not by us.
- Foreign transaction fee — most banks charge 1–3% for international transactions. Check your card's terms.
- Dynamic currency conversion — if your bank offers to charge you in your home currency at the payment stage, decline it. Your bank's own rate is almost always better.
Tips to Minimize Fees
- Use a card with no foreign transaction fees (many travel cards offer this).
- Pay with Apple Pay or Google Pay — they use your card's standard rates.
- If you have a EUR-denominated card or account, use that for zero conversion fees.
Refunds and Currency
Refunds are always processed in EUR, the original billing currency. Your bank will convert the refund back at their current rate, which may differ slightly from the rate at the time of purchase.
