Two Types of Tickets
We offer two types of tickets, and their validity periods are different. It's important to know which one you have.
E-Tickets (Self-Entry)
Most of our tickets are e-tickets — you receive a QR code and enter the museum on your own by scanning it at the turnstile.
- Valid for 2 weeks — your e-ticket can be used on any day within 14 days of your selected booking date. This gives you flexibility if your plans shift slightly.
- No fixed time slot — you can enter the museum at any time during operating hours within your 2-week validity window.
- Single entry — once you scan your QR code and enter, the ticket is used. You cannot re-enter with the same ticket.
Hosted Entry Tickets (Guided Tours & Assisted Entry)
Some tickets include a hosted entry — meaning a professional guide meets you at the museum, provides your physical ticket, and may accompany you inside.
- Valid only on the selected date — hosted entry tickets must be used on the exact date you booked. Your guide will be waiting for you at the meeting point on that specific day and time.
- Fixed meeting time — you need to arrive at the meeting point at the time shown on your e-ticket. Your guide cannot wait indefinitely.
- Meeting point details — the exact address, map link, and guide contact information are all on your e-ticket.
How to Tell Which Type You Have
Check the ticket page before booking — if the listing mentions a meeting point, guide, or hosted entry, it's a hosted entry ticket with same-day validity. Standard museum entry tickets are e-tickets with 2-week validity.
After booking, your confirmation email and e-ticket will clearly indicate the ticket type and validity period.
Entry Rules at Istanbul Museums
- QR code entry — for e-tickets, show your QR code at the museum turnstile. It's scanned automatically.
- Digital tickets accepted everywhere — all Istanbul museums accept mobile tickets. No printing needed.
- ID may be required — some museums ask for a photo ID matching the name on your booking. Carry your passport or national ID.
Expired or Unused Tickets
- E-tickets expire after 14 days from the booking date.
- Hosted entry tickets expire at the end of the booked date.
- If you need to change your visit date, you can reschedule for free from your Tickets page.
